PsyHealth worXs! – The Serious Game for Assessing Psychosocial Risks

The Serious Game PsyHealth worXs! was developed to provide a practical-oriented and interactive experience of conducting a psychosocial risk assessment (PRA).

In a virtual environment, the player accompanies the psychosocial risk assessment process in a hospital. The player applies their knowledge, makes decisions, and receives feedback on their actions.

At the beginning, one of three role options that best reflects the professional situation is selected:

• Kim – Leadership Role: Manager, supervisor or HR manager with decision-making responsibility.
• Jackie – Advisory Role: Specialist in occupational health management, occupational safety or occupational medicine.
• Luca – Participatory Role: Member of the employee representation body with advisory and mediating responsibilities.

Throughout the game, players take on the perspective of their chosen role within a steering group.

The objective is to contribute to an effective and sustainable strategy for implementing the psychosocial risk assessment. The decisions they make influence the process and its outcomes. The player receives feedback and performance points that evaluate their decisions and support the learning process.

Some questions are used exclusively for further game development and are anonymously included in the evaluation.

Certification of the Stand-Alone Version

The Serious Game consists of four parts.

In each part, points that reflect the individual learning progress are collected. After completing all four parts, the player will be shown an overall score with the total points achieved in each part.

Once successfully completed, they can request a certificate of participation.

Procedure for Certification:

1. Complete the entire Serious Game (all four parts).
2. At the end, an overall summary of the final scores for all four parts will be displayed.
3. Take a screenshot of this score.
4. Send the screenshot via email to psyhealthworxs@ukaachen.de.
5. The passing threshold is 60% per section.
6. After successful verification, the certificate will be sent via email.
